Savannah Valentine’s Surprise

Shawn gave Katie a Valentine’s surprise with a trip to Savannah, Ga the weekend before Valentine’s Day.  They stayed on the riverfront in the historic district at the Inn at Ellis Square.  Shawn picked this hotel because it was the closest to Paula Dean’s The Lady and Sons restaurant.  While they were there, they took a trolley tour with Oglethorpe Trolly Tours, and walked around the historic distric, visiting all of the many squares.  In the afternoon, they stood in line for later dinner reservations at The Lady and Sons.  After dinner Saturday night, Shawn & Katie visited Lucas Theatre for the classic opera La bohème.  The next day, Shawn & Katie visited the Tybee Island Light Station, Fort Screven, and the Telfair Musem (home of the Bird Girl statue from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil).  On their way home, Shawn & Katie had lunch at Paula Dean’s brother’s restauraunt, Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House, and met Bubba himself (pictured)!  Click here to see more pictures from their trip!
