In a major step toward his doctoral degree, Shawn passed his PhD proposal examination on Dec. 7th, 2006, admitting him to PhD candidacy. Shawn has two projects remaining, and then needs to write a dissertation before his scheduled graduation in August of 2007.

Shawn & Katie picked up Belle, their new Scottish Terrier, in Montgomery on the night of 3/14/06.  She was born on 2/3/06.  She is registered with the American Kennel Club, and has a great grandmother that was a champion show dog (Ch. Shawn gave Katie a Valentine’s surprise with a trip to Savannah, Ga the weekend before Valentine’s Day.  They stayed on the riverfront in the historic district at the Inn at Ellis Square.  Shawn picked this hotel because it was the closest to Paula Dean’s The Lady and Sons restaurant.  While they were there, they took …

Katie’s Uncle, Bob Harris, of Spanish Fort, Alabama has won the 2005 Southeastern Fun College Football Pickem!  Uncle Bob came in first of thirty four family and friends in the group.  He topped the group two of the thirteen weeks the game was played, and finished with an efficiency over 54%.  During a ceremony held …

Shawn & Katie, and Katie’s family, visited Noah’s Ark, America’s largest waterpark, in Wisconsin Dells, WI, while visiting Katie’s sister and brother-in-law, who live in Rochester, MN.  Noah’s Ark had over 60 water rides, but the most unique was the Black Anaconda, which is the longest water rollercoaster in America.  Although the line for this …
