Shawn attended the Promise Keepers conference in Mobile, AL the weekend of August 26th with nine other men in his family, including Gilbert Burnham (father), Brian Burnham (brother), Tommy Fell (uncle), David Fell (uncle), Danny Fell (uncle), Brian Feagin (uncle), Dennis Fell (uncle), Daniel Fell (cousin), and Nathan Fell (cousin). The theme of the conference was "The Awakening", and opened with evangelist and Vietnam veteran Dave Roever, which was one of Shawn’s favorite speakers at the conference (the other was Bishop Wellington Boone). The conference ended hours before Hurricane Katrina made landfall, which caused many attendees from Louisiana and Mississippi to leave early. Fortunately, all of Shawn’s family members were able to prepare for the coming storm. The conference was a wonderful spiritual growth and family bonding experience for Shawn and his family. This is the third year Shawn has attended a Promise Keepers conference.
